Team Collaboration & Roles
Invite collaborators, assign site roles, manage pending invitations, and transfer site ownership.
The Team dashboard allows you to manage user access, define roles, invite external guest collaborators, and transfer site ownership between workspaces.
Overview
Manage site collaborators by selecting the Team tab in the left sidebar of your Site Management page.
The dashboard displays:
- Collaborator List: A paginated table showing the user's name, email, and active role.
- Pending Invitations: A tracker for sent invitations awaiting acceptance.
- Transfer Site Section: An administrative control to relocate the site to a different workspace.
[!NOTE] Workspace members with administrator access can view and edit all sites in the workspace automatically. Use the Team tab specifically to share a single site with guest editors, view specific, site-only access, or handle site transfers.
Workspace Lock & Collaboration Plans
Teammate invites and real-time multiplayer editing are governed by workspace plans:
- Plan Limits: If the workspace doesn't have the
LIVE_COLLABORATIONfeature enabled on its current tier, the panel shows a Live Collaboration Locked overlay. - Unlocking: Click the upgrade CTA inside the lock banner to upgrade your billing plan and enable site-sharing.
Inviting Collaborators
To invite a new member to your site:
- Click the Invite button (with the envelope icon) in the header.
- Enter the collaborator's Email address.
- Select a Role from the dropdown menu (only roles scoped to
SITEorBOTHwill be shown). - Click Send invite. An email containing a secure signup link will be sent to the recipient.
Changing a Collaborator's Role
Workspace owners, workspace admins, and site managers can update a member's site role after they have joined:
- Locate the member in the Collaborator List.
- Click the Role dropdown (same pattern as the workspace Team page).
- Select Site Manager, Site Designer, or Site Viewer.
The change applies only to this site. A Workspace Viewer can still be a Site Manager here.
The workspace owner and your own row stay read-only.
Roles & Permissions
Roles determine what actions a collaborator can perform on the site:
| Role | Scope | Permissions |
|---|---|---|
| Site Manager | Site | Full control over this site: settings, domains, members, pages, editor, CMS, blog, and forms. Cannot manage workspace billing or transfer the site to another workspace. |
| Site Designer | Content & Pages | Can build layouts in the editor, manage collections/blog, create pages, and publish updates. Cannot manage domains, site settings, or site members. |
| Site Viewer | Read-Only | Read-only access to view the editor, collections, blog, and form submissions. |
Pending Invitations
Sent invites that have not been accepted are listed in the Pending Invitations section:
- Shows the invitee's email address and the expiration date of the invitation link.
- Canceling Invites: Click the X circle button next to any pending invitation to immediately deactivate the invite link.
Removing Members
To revoke a collaborator's site-only access:
- Locate the member in the Collaborator List.
- Click the triple-dot menu (···) on the right side of their row.
- Click Remove from site.
- Confirm the removal in the dialog box. Their access is revoked instantly.
Members who inherit this site through full workspace access do not have Remove from site. Change their workspace access from Dashboard → Team instead.
Transferring Site Ownership
At the bottom of the panel, the Transfer Site module allows admins to move a site to a different workspace:
- Click Move to workspace... to open the transfer dialog.
- Select a target workspace from the dropdown list (displays workspaces where you hold administrator privileges).
- Review the warning: Members of the current workspace will lose access to the site once the transfer completes.
- Click Move site to complete the transfer.
